MINISTERS OF CARE
A group of men and women who visit homebound parishioners and parishioners who are in nursing homes. Also, those involved in this ministry help bring the Sunday Eucharistic celebration to the homebound as a Minister of the Eucharist.

BEREAVEMENT COMMITTEE

SOCIAL JUSTICE COMMITTEE
A group of Cathedral parishioners that meets monthly to address the social concerns of our own faith community as well as those of our neighbors. Their goal is to promote peace and justice by raising awareness of social issues that are of importance to all members of the community and by reaching out to the poor and lonely. By coordinating and working with various support agencies and faith communities, they seek ways to involve parish members in works of mercy.

The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic, Family, fraternal, service organization dedicated to making a difference in the areas of faith, community, family, youth and fellowship. PRAY AND PLAY GROUP
Pray and Play is an opportunity for mothers and their children to meet twice a month to share with their peers the most sacred, challenging and rewarding aspect of their lives, while building friendships for themselves and their children. The group supports and affirms the role of motherhood with several educational speakers brought in to supplement. Educational activities are also planned for the children.
Ages: newborn to age five.
Meetings: The group meets the first and third Tuesday of every month from 10:30 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. at a members home. Members bring their own sack lunches for themselves and their children.

WELCOMING COMMITTEE
The purpose of the Welcoming Committee is to contact all new parishioners of the Cathedral Parish and help them to feel welcome in a very large parish. Also, they will inform new parishioners of the various organizations and activities within the parish and invite them to become active parishioners.

BABYSITTING (10:30 A.M. MASS ON SUNDAY)
Babysitting is provided during the 10:30 A.M. Mass on Sundays in the Convent basement. Babysitting allows parents with young children to participate more fully in the Mass.

CATHEDRAL ATHELETIC CLUB
This club is for anyone interested in sports or for parents who have children involved in sports teams at Cathedral Grade School. They raise funds to pay for equipment and pay entry fees for the grade school sports teams.
Meetings: Meetings are held the second Thursday of each month in the grade school at 8:00 P.M.

FUNERAL LUNCHEON COMMITTEE
This committee is a friend to the family in their hour of sorrow. The Funeral Luncheon Committee will prepare and provide a luncheon after the funeral for those families that request it.

ST. VINCENT DEPAUL SOCIETY
The society is designed to give aid, physical and spiritual, to the needy and unfortunate, especially of the parish community. The members make visits to the needy and other unfortunate persons of the community to investigate problems, deliver groceries, dispense clothing, visit the sick and aged to assist in other related matters.

CATHEDRAL QUILTERS
The Cathedral Quilters is a group of women who work together to make all the quilts needed for the parish: the Chicken and Dumpling raffle, Parent Club auction, Summer Festival, Sodality card party, quilt of the month raffle and 25 quilts for the quilt bingo. All these monies go directly to the parish or organization listed. This group makes and sells baby quilts and with that money buy all the materials and give a sizeable donation to the parish each year. The organization has no president.
Meetings: The quilters meet every Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M

CATHEDRAL ROSARY MAKERS GUILD
The Cathedral Rosary Makers Guild makes rosaries for the Missions, for the homebound , for those in the hospital and nursing homes as well as more elaborate rosaries for special occasions.
Meetings: The Rosary Guild meets on Friday mornings from 10:00 - Noon in the Cathedral Rectory basement.

PRO-LIFE
The Cathedral Pro-Life group is here to make people aware of how important human life is from natural beginning to our natural death. We hold the annual Roses for Life (on Mother's Day) - this benefits Project Rachel. We partake in the Life Chain held in Fairview Heights in October. All are welcome.

TOUR GUIDES
Tour guides are members of St. Peter's Cathedral who are called upon to give tours of our Cathedral at various times of the year

SACRED HEART PRAYER CHAIN
The Sacred Heart Prayer Chain solicits prayers for people who call them with a special prayer request.

CATHEDRAL GRADE SCHOOL PARENTS' CLUB
The purpose of the Cathedral Grade School Parents' Club is to foster a closer union between home and school. Thus, parents and teachers promote the best interest of the pupils of the Cathedral Grade School. Any parent who has a child enrolled in Cathedral Grade School is qualified for membership.
The Parents' Club holds several fund raising projects each year such as the Silent Auction and the Book Fair. At the end of the year, all proceeds, except $11,000.00 kept for operational expenses, are presented to the school. They do volunteer work in the cafeteria daily. In 1970, they began the "Sister Pacifica Scholarship Fund" to aid deserving children receiving a Catholic education.
Meetings: Meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 P.M. in the Cathedral Grade School cafeteria.

CATHEDRAL WEDNESDAY WORK CREW
This group of men volunteer their services in an effort to conserve expenses and maintain the needs of the parish for repairs and new work, some of these are carpentry, plumbing, electric and many other skills, however, no skills are required and any gender is welcome.
